Quote From Mandated

My younger brother is probably my favorite person to read to from my unpublished manuscripts.

Yesterday, I read him the opening pages of the sequel to Isolated. He shared my excitement about my work in progress and – after having listened – could relate back to me even the minute details.

I want to have that same enthusiasm for the projects of others as my brother has for mine. Whether you’re a writer, a sketch artist, a student or a traveler, what are your current and future projects?

In closing, let me leave you with a quote from the manuscript I read to my brother yesterday:

  1. That’s so exciting, Jordy! How far are you into writing your sequel? I’ve been wanting to read Isolated but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
Currently I’ve struggling to edit through the first very rough draft of my book that I finished a few weeks ago.

    1. No way! Congratulations on finishing the first draft of your book! May I ask what it’s about? (You may not want to share the details yet, but even as much as whether it’s fiction or non-fiction). What are your hopes for this book? Are you hoping to publish it as a physical book or online or are you just writing it for the experience and to grow and learn?

As for me, I’ve finished writing Mandated and have edited it all the way through once (I think). But when I edit, I sometimes jump around a bit, and I expect to edit it much more before it’s ready to be published.

      1. Thank you! I’ll share that it’s fiction, Christian and kind of a mystery but nothing else till later :).
I would love to publish it one day… and I’ll probably go the traditional way with that.

      2. Wow; exciting! Are you planning on sharing updates on your blog as you make progress, or will I have to remember to ask you about it again in six months’ time?

  2. Awww, nice to have a fan like that! Especially someone close to you. Best of luck with Mandated … sounds like it’s going pretty well! I can’t wait to read it! 🙂

I’m working on a variety of projects, as always … trying to focus on getting the proof-reading for At Her Fingertips finished and submitted now.

      1. Yep, I probably need to focus more, but it’s tough for me. All those bright, shiny stories! 😉 I’m pretty close to being done with it, actually … just a few more proof changes and then I have to talk with my mom about some potential plot fixes.
