(Discuss) What’s Your Experience with the Bible?

Four days ago, I published a blog post about how and where to start reading the Bible. I had in mind readers of my blog who have little hands-on experience and who want to look into it more but find it intimidating. That got me thinking that I don’t really know where you – my dear readers – stand regarding this. Hence today’s topic of conversation.

What’s your experience with the Bible?

Did you grow up reciting it from memory?

Or have you perhaps never owned or even held one?

Is the Bible somewhat commonplace in your mind?

There are no right or wrong answers.

Here’s a chance to get to know me and your fellow readers. Here’s a chance for us to get to know you.

To first timers the Bible can be intimidating. On the opposite end of the spectrum, it can feel commonplace to those who have grown up with it.

  1. I was raised by parents who taught me to read my Bible daily. I count this a precious blessing from God; pure grace on His part. On the other hand, I can be quick to take it for granted. I always know in my head that the Bible – the Word of God – is something so precious, yet I forget in my heart. And sometimes I forget that the Bible is just as daunting to some people as Buddhist scripts are to me.
